Q.) Can I access my domain address with or without the "www"?
A.) Yes, you will be able to access the domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name. Example: http://www.your-name.com or http://your-name.com is acceptable, whichever you prefer.
Q.) Do you offer dial-up Internet access?
A.) No, you will need local Internet access in order to maintain your web site and retrieve email addressed to your site. We have found web sites and pages will be displayed faster when not mixed with a dial up service.
Q.) Can I transfer an existing domain name to your servers?
A.) Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting to complete the transfer process. If the contact email on your domain has changed from the time you originally registered it, you will need to fax an authorization to complete the process.
Q.) Will you help to change our DNS information?
A.) Yes. We have also listed some of the more popular companies with links on How to change your DNS information.
Q.) Can you host foreign domain names?
A.) Yes, we can host or house any foreign extensions. We do not do the registration of foreign domain names but can provide the name servers so you can register them yourselves. For more information see International Domain Names.
Q.) How long does it take before my domain name is active?
A.) It usually takes about 24-36 hours before it is active. Note All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new sites location, so if you are in Italy it may take longer for you domain to become viewable by the Internet.
Q.) How do I transfer files to my web site?
A.) There is 3 ways to transfer files to your web site, FTP programs, Front Page and our Web Site Manager.All are explained in detail in our FTP section
Q.) Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
A.) You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.
Q.) How long does it take to set up a new account?
A.) New accounts are generally set up within 24-36 hours from the time we receive your order. Once an account is set up, an activation notice will be sent to you via email including your user-ID and password. You can begin uploading files to your new web site.
Q.) Can I subdivide my space and resell it?
A.) Yes, we do allow you to create subdirectories which you can use to offer friends or clients space as long as its within our policy guidelines. You can also request additional FTP accounts with limited access to a specific directory for a small additional setup charge.
Q.) Can I have more domains pointing to the same main page as my main domain?
A.) Yes, We can "point" other domain names to your existing web site with no additional charge to you. You will need to make sure these Domains also use our Name Servers or DNS numbers. This is a great way to expand the marketing of your present business.
