Attendize is an open-source ticket selling and event management application built on Laravel. Organizers can publish events, sell tickets, collect payments, message attendees, and scan tickets without paying per-ticket fees to a third-party box office.

The current Softaculous package is version 2.8.0. The project is licensed under the Attribution Assurance License, which requires the “Powered By Attendize” notice to remain visible unless a separate white-label license is purchased from Attendize.

Attendize

Who Attendize is for

Attendize fits event organizers, venues, clubs, conferences, and community groups that want a self-hosted box office. It is not a general help-desk or CRM. Teams that need current PHP 8 support, frequent security releases, or PCI-ready SaaS billing should compare a maintained alternative before launch.

Choose the Hosting Plan That's Right for You

Choose capacity for ticket volume, uploaded artwork, attendee exports, outbound email, and payment-log growth. A single small event can start on a modest plan. Busy organizers with several events, large attachments, and frequent checkout traffic should allow extra storage and room for backups.

What you can run with Attendize

Paid ticketed events

Publish dates, ticket types, prices, and checkout questions, then collect online or offline payments without a third-party per-ticket fee.

Free registrations and RSVPs

Use zero-price tickets when you only need an attendee list, QR check-in, and email updates.

Multi-organizer venues

Separate organizers can manage their own events, branding, and sales reports on one installation when permissions are configured carefully.

Door check-in

Staff can scan ticket QR codes in the browser and work from a print-friendly attendee list if connectivity is limited.

Installing Attendize

RSH Web Services offers Attendize installation through Softaculous in cPanel. Use this method first to create the application files, database, and administrator account from one installer. RSH Web Services can help with installation.

For manual installation, download a trusted 2.8.0 package, set the web document root to Attendize’s public directory, create a least-privilege MySQL database, install Composer dependencies if the package requires them, generate the Laravel application key, and complete the bundled installer. Configure mail, payment gateways, organizer branding, and the required “Powered By Attendize” notice before selling tickets.

Hosting requirements

Official documentation for this release family calls for PHP 7.1.3 or newer (composer.json for 2.8.0 specifies PHP 7.3+), MySQL 5.7 or higher, and the OpenSSL, PDO, Mbstring, Tokenizer, Fileinfo, and GD extensions. Confirm the exact PHP version available on your account, writable storage paths, outbound email, and HTTPS before taking payments. Do not assume current PHP 8 branches are fully supported without testing.

Migrating or upgrading Attendize

Begin with cPanel backups of every Attendize file and a complete database export. For a Softaculous-managed installation, use only the backup, clone, restore, or upgrade controls shown for Attendize before any manual change. Softaculous updates Attendize installations; it does not convert another ticketing or help-desk application into Attendize.

Move the matching files and database together, keep the public directory as the web root, update .env values, and test organizer login, events, tickets, checkout, payment webhooks, refunds, attendee lists, QR scanning, widgets, and email. Version 2.8.0 includes an upgrade controller for moving an existing Attendize install forward; follow that release’s notes and never mix files and a database from different versions.

Attendize security

Treat cardholder data with care. Use HTTPS, unique administrator credentials, least-privilege organizer roles, and payment-gateway keys stored only in server configuration. Restrict file uploads, review refund and messaging permissions, and remove unused organizer accounts. Hosting firewall and DDoS controls protect the server; they do not patch an older Laravel codebase. Test PHP and application updates in staging first.

Backups and recovery

Back up the Attendize database and all application files, including .env, storage, uploaded images, ticket assets, and local changes. Keep several dated restore points and at least one copy outside the account. Create a fresh backup before upgrades, gateway changes, or imports, then restore a private copy and verify events, orders, attendees, refunds, and email delivery.

Offering current hosting technologies and SSD storage with NGINX, HTTP/2, PHP, and a CDN.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Attendize a help-desk or customer-support platform?

No. Softaculous groups Attendize under customer support, but the software is a self-hosted ticketing and event manager. It handles organizers, events, tickets, payments, attendees, and door scanning. Use a dedicated help-desk application if you need shared inboxes, SLA queues, or IT tickets rather than event registration.

Is Attendize suitable for a new production box office?

Only after you test version 2.8.0 on the PHP and MySQL versions you will run in production. The packaged release uses Laravel 6 and dates to January 2023. That can still serve a low-risk or existing event site, but a currently maintained stack is safer for high-volume card payments and new public launches.

Does the free license allow removing “Powered By Attendize”?

No. Attendize uses the Attribution Assurance License. The “Powered By Attendize” notice must stay visible on the installation unless you buy a separate white-label license from Attendize. Confirm the license that matches how many domains you will use before you customize branding or resell access.

Which payment gateways does Attendize include?

The published feature list includes Stripe and PayPal out of the box, offline payments, optional ticket service charges, and partial or full refunds. Other Omnipay gateways can be added by developers. Test checkout, webhooks, refunds, and email receipts with each gateway in staging before selling live tickets.

Can I embed Attendize tickets on an existing website?

Yes. Attendize documents widget support for existing websites and WordPress. Place the widget only on pages you control, serve the ticket site over HTTPS, and test the embed on mobile. A widget does not replace organizer permissions, gateway configuration, or backup planning for the Attendize installation itself.

How should I test Attendize before selling tickets?

Create a staging copy and walk through organizer setup, event pages, ticket types, paid and free checkout, refunds, attendee export, QR scanning, widgets, and notification email. Use a payment-gateway test mode. Confirm PHP extensions and mail delivery, then restore a backup to a separate location before the first public sale.

How much hosting storage does Attendize need?

Softaculous lists an application footprint of about 249 MB. Live use grows with event images, ticket artwork, attendee records, exports, logs, and backups. Estimate upcoming events and uploads, then pick a plan with room for recovery copies. Watch disk, database, and mail volume after the first ticket sales.

Can Attendize send ticket email from my domain?

Yes, when you configure a mailbox on your domain and enter those SMTP settings in Attendize. Use a dedicated sender address, protect its password, and test delivery to several providers. Add the DNS authentication records required by your mail service and watch bounces before a large event mailing.

What should I back up before an Attendize update?

Copy the full database plus application files, especially .env, storage, uploaded media, and any local code changes. For Softaculous installs, use the Attendize backup control first. Restore that pair privately and check orders and check-in before you update the live event site.
