cPanel - Softaculous - Scripts Installation Icon
The installation list shows applications Softaculous recognizes in the account and provides management links when those controls are available. This guide explains the installation icon and the actions that can appear beside a listed application.
Before You Begin
Log in to cPanel and open Softaculous. If an existing application is missing, confirm that it is supported and consider the separate import instructions rather than assuming it was detected.
Open the Installation List
Log into your cPanel
Click the Softaculous App Installer link in the Software section.
Softaculous Scripts Installation Icon
This Softaculous installation icon looks like a box and will show what scripts you have installed
List Columns and Icons

This will show what app have been installed and clicking the link will open a new app window
Admin
Clicking the login icon brings you to your program’s administrative login page
Installation Time
This will show what date the app was installed at
Version
This will show the version of the installed app. You may also have a "Upgrade Button" next to Version Number, a convent way to upgrade your app
Options
This will show the options available for that installation
WordPress Management Icon
This is where you can manage different features with the installed app. See WordPress Manager.
Create Staging Icon
You can stage an installation to test the upgrades or the changes before applying it to the main installation and then you can push the changes to the main installation. See Create Staging and Push to Live.
Clone Icon
You can clone an installation to test the upgrades or the changes before applying it to the main installation. See the clone guide.
Backup Icon
You can use the backup utility to backup both your files and database. See the backup guide.
Edit Details Icon
This feature allows you to change your program’s installation details, such as the folder where it is installed and the database configuration details. See Edit Settings.
Remove Icon
The remove tool allows you to easily uninstall any program you’ve previously installed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What access do I need?
You generally need access to the hosting control panel and the Softaculous Enduser panel. Viewing the list does not change the site. If a control is missing, check the account permissions and server policy before assuming the interface is malfunctioning. Start from the Apps Installer if you cannot find Softaculous.
Why is the option not visible?
Softaculous shows tools according to the script, installation state, server configuration, and administrator permissions. Some features are limited to supported applications or may be disabled by the host. Confirm that you selected the correct installation. If the site is not listed at all, use the import WordPress or remote import workflow when appropriate.
How can I confirm the task completed?
Review the success message, task status, or updated installation record supplied by Softaculous. Then test the relevant result directly, such as opening the site, checking the administration page, or confirming the changed setting. Background jobs can be checked in the Softaculous task list.
What should I do after an error?
Record the exact error, operation, installation, and time. Check the task list, destination path, storage, credentials, and permissions that apply to the operation. Avoid repeating a destructive action such as Remove until you know whether the first attempt finished. Contact the hosting provider or Softaculous support when the message does not identify a safe correction.
Can a cPanel user perform every action?
No. Access depends on the hosting plan, server policy, Softaculous permissions, and the application’s own user roles. Some options are available only to administrators, while others are limited to a particular script. Related tasks are listed in the Softaculous tutorial index.
Do I need a backup first?
Viewing the list does not require a backup. Create a current backup before Clone, Staging, Edit Details, Upgrade, or Remove. Use the Softaculous backup guide. A Softaculous installation backup is not automatically a full account backup.

Use the official Softaculous Enduser Documentation linked on this page for current menu names and feature availability. For WordPress behavior, use the WordPress tutorial index or the developer’s official documentation. Interfaces change over time, so an older screenshot may not match every current hosting account.
